DisplayPort is being increasingly widely adopted in high‑definition audio‑video transmission systems. Due to harsh electrical characteristics, conventional copper cables impose limitations on signal transmission distance and signal quality. In practical deployments, optical fibers feature low dispersion and transmission attenuation. Compared with traditional copper cables, optical fibers deliver longer transmission distances and superior signal quality, while mitigating electromagnetic interference. The product offers high performance, excellent signal integrity and cost‑effective advantages.
4K Long‑Distance Transmission
The KDPX‑6200 series high‑performance 4K UHD fiber extender transmits high‑resolution DisplayPort video signals over long distances via single‑core optical fiber. This extender series supports DisplayPort 1.4 signals with a resolution of 4K (3840×2160@60P). The standard‑configured optical module achieves a transmission distance up to 2 km over single‑mode fiber; long‑reach optical modules support maximum transmission distances of 40 km.
Loss‑Less Optical Transmission Technology
Our DisplayPort extenders adopt state‑of‑the‑art technology. The four pairs of high‑speed differential DisplayPort signals are converted into dual‑fiber optical signals by 4‑channel 10 Gbps opto‑electronic conversion chips. The transmitter unit converts DisplayPort signals into optical pulse streams for fiber transmission. The receiver unit captures incoming optical pulse signals from the fiber and restores them to native DisplayPort signals recognizable by monitors or projectors. Loss‑less fiber transmission improves signal integrity and stability, eliminating signal distortion and degradation caused by cable length, and delivering pristine image quality.
Zero‑Latency Transmission and Video De‑jitter Function
Hardware‑based fiber pass‑through technology is implemented. The transmitter converts high‑speed signals into 10 Gbps optical streams via opto‑electronic converter chips. The receiver de‑multiplexes the 10 Gbps high‑speed optical stream back to the original native signal stream. No software‑based encoding/decoding such as H.264 / H.265 is applied. Therefore video, audio and other auxiliary signals are transmitted in real‑time, featuring zero latency, no image compression and synchronized audio‑video playback. The proprietary signal de‑jitter function delivers more precise signal transmission and enhanced signal quality. It provides outstanding video synchronization performance for short‑range video wall splicing applications, eliminating inter‑screen flicker, black lines and signal jitter artifacts.
KVM Function
The KDPX-6200 series high-performance 4K UHD KVM fiber optic extenders adopt hardware encoding (without software encoding and decoding) to integrate USB mouse, USB keyboard signals as well as audio and video streams into high-speed serial bitstreams, which are transmitted via 40G optical modules. This product boasts outstanding advantages including lossless image quality, zero signal latency, and perfect synchronization between video picture and keyboard/mouse operations. Even after transmission over a distance of 40 kilometers, the operating experience is identical to local short-distance control. It is the optimal choice for audio-visual system design engineers and system integrators to realize long-distance transmission of HDMI UHD signals together with keyboard and mouse signals.
HDCP Pass‑Through
The KDPX‑6200 series high‑performance 4K UHD fiber extender supports HDCP pass‑through. It transports HDCP‑encrypted signals over distances beyond 2000 meters (maximum 40 km) and is compliant with HDCP 2.3. When connecting signal sources such as Blu‑ray players with HDCP encryption, normal audio and video playback is guaranteed.
EDID Pass‑Through
The KDPX‑6200 series high‑performance 4K UHD fiber extender features EDID pass‑through. Monitor EDID data is correctly relayed through the extender back to the signal source. Source devices can update display EDID information in real‑time for perfect compatibility with monitors, projectors and other display terminals to achieve optimal display performance. It is an ideal solution for system design engineers and system integrators addressing long‑distance transmission of DVI / HDMI ultra‑high‑definition signals.
PID Intelligent Temperature Control with Active Cooling
This device integrates high‑precision temperature sensors to accurately monitor internal temperature. A PID closed‑loop control algorithm dynamically adjusts fan activation and rotational speed. This ensures effective heat dissipation, extends fan service life and reduces acoustic noise, enabling the product to operate at the optimal performance balance point.
