HDMI 2.0 Ultra‑Long‑Reach Lossless Optical Transmission Technology
The HFX‑6500 series high‑performance HDMI 2.0 UHD fiber extender adopts state‑of‑the‑art zero‑compression real‑time direct‑fiber transmission architecture. It multiplexes three lanes of HDMI 2.0 high‑speed differential signals (6 Gbps per lane) together with the reference clock, and converts them into ultra‑high‑rate lossless uncompressed video optical payload via 40G QSFP+ transceivers, enabling single‑fiber transmission. The transmitter unit converts electrical HDMI 2.0 signals into optical pulse streams for fiber‑medium delivery; the receiver unit recovers incoming optical pulse signals and reconstructs native HDMI 2.0 electrical signals compliant with display and projector interface requirements. This extender series supports long‑haul transport of high‑resolution HDMI 2.0 video over dual‑fiber links. Backward‑compatible with HDMI v1.4 and DVI 1.0, it delivers up to 4K UHD resolution (3840×2160@60P). When equipped with standard dual‑channel QSFP+ optical transceivers and single‑mode fiber, the system achieves 2000 m transmission reach. Deployment of long‑reach QSFP+ transceivers extends the single‑mode fiber transmission distance up to 40 km. Lossless optical transmission maintains superior signal integrity and stability, mitigating signal distortion and attenuation induced by cable‑link length, and consequently delivers pristine video fidelity.
Zero‑Latency Transport and Video De‑jitter Function
This solution implements hardware‑accelerated HDMI 2.0 direct‑fiber transmission. On the transmitter side, 40G QSFP+ opto‑electronic conversion devices multiplex native HDMI 2.0 electrical streams into ultra‑high‑speed optical payloads. The receiver performs optical‑to‑electrical conversion to restore the original signal bitstream. Unlike H.264 / H.265 software‑based encoding‑decoding schemes, this hardware‑native transport enables real‑time conveyance of video, audio and auxiliary metadata, featuring zero end‑to‑end latency, compression‑free video payload and synchronized A/V timing. The proprietary signal de‑jitter engine optimizes transmission timing margin and improves signal‑to‑noise performance. For short‑range multi‑display splicing deployments, it delivers superior inter‑display synchronization performance, eliminating visual artifacts including inter‑panel flicker, black lines and temporal jitter.
Remote HDCP / EDID Pass‑Through
The HFX‑6500 series high‑performance HDMI 2.0 UHD fiber extender integrates remote HDCP and EDID pass‑through capability, overcoming the conventional 300‑meter physical‑layer limit for EDID‑HDCP signal transmission. Built upon proprietary in‑house HDMI 2.0 bidirectional auto‑negotiation long‑reach transmission logic and core remote HDCP/EDID tunneling technology, the system facilitates full‑uncompressed UHD HDMI 2.0 payload transmission over ultra‑long‑haul single‑mode fiber links.
HDMI 2.0 Local Loop‑out Scaling and Loop‑out Isolation Mechanism
The transmitter‑side HDMI 2.0 local loop‑out port supports Scale‑Down resolution conversion. It natively down‑scales 4K@60Hz (3840×2160@60Hz) source input to 1920×1080@60Hz output, supporting heterogeneous‑resolution monitor deployment in field applications. In addition, the dedicated local loop‑out isolation mechanism ensures that hot‑plug events on the local loop‑out port will not interfere with primary fiber‑link video output, substantially enhancing field‑operation flexibility.
Transmitter‑Side Analog Audio Embedding and Reverse Audio Return Channel
At the transmitter, a 3.5 mm external analog stereo audio input is sampled and digitized via ADC. An automatic audio‑source switching unit arbitrates between HDMI embedded audio and external analog audio input, and embeds the selected audio payload into the HDMI bitstream. Furthermore, reverse‑audio‑return output is supported: audio payload returned from the receiver is reconstructed via DAC into analog stereo audio, output through the 3.5 mm stereo interface.
Receiver‑Side Audio De‑embedding Output and Reverse Audio Return Input
The receiver implements audio stream de‑embedding while preserving native audio payload within the primary video bitstream for downstream display‑end output. The de‑embedded digital audio is converted via DAC into high‑fidelity analog stereo audio for output at the 3.5 mm audio jack. Meanwhile, the receiver accepts 3.5 mm external analog stereo input, converts it to digital domain by ADC, and forwards it back to the transmitter end in real‑time over high‑speed reverse return channel.
PID‑Based Intelligent Thermal Management with Active Cooling
Integrated high‑precision thermal sensors monitor internal module temperature in real‑time.A closed‑loop PID control algorithm dynamically modulates fan trigger conditions and rotational speed. This implementation optimizes thermal dissipation efficiency, extends fan operational lifetime and reduces acoustic noise, achieving optimal balance among thermal performance, acoustic index and service life.
