DVI/HDMI interfaces are being deployed increasingly widely in high-definition audio and video transmission systems. Restrained by severe electrical limitations, conventional copper cables impose tight constraints on maximum signal transmission distance and signal integrity. In practical deployment scenarios, optical fibers feature low chromatic dispersion and minimal transmission attenuation. Compared with traditional copper cables, fiber optics enable longer transmission ranges and superior signal quality while eliminating electromagnetic interference (EMI). 4K Ultra-Long-Distance Transmission

The HFX-2100 series high-performance 4K UHD fiber extenders transmit high-resolution DVI/HDMI video signals over a single fiber core across extended distances. This product line supports HDMI v1.4 and DVI 1.0 standards, delivering a maximum resolution of 4K (3840×2160@30fps). When paired with the standard optical transceivers, multi-mode fiber supports transmission up to 300 meters, while single-mode fiber extends coverage to 1.4 kilometers. For models equipped with EDID learning capability, long-range dedicated optical modules paired with single-mode fiber achieve transmission distances of up to 80 kilometers. 

Lossless Optical Transmission Technology 

Most conventional DVI/HDMI fiber extenders transmit video signals via multiple optical wavelengths, which renders them highly susceptible to severe fiber chromatic dispersion during long-distance transmission. To mitigate dispersion-induced range limitations, our DVI/HDMI extenders adopt cutting-edge proprietary technology: the three pairs of high-speed differential signals (3.4 Gbps per channel) and clock signals embedded in DVI/HDMI streams are converted into a lossless, uncompressed 10.2 Gbps serial video bitstream through 10G high-speed serial-to-parallel conversion chips, enabling transmission over a single optical wavelength.The transmitter unit converts electrical DVI/HDMI signals into optical pulse signals for fiber transport; the receiver unit captures incoming optical pulse signals and reconstructs native DVI/HDMI signals recognizable by displays or projectors. Lossless fiber transmission preserves full signal integrity and stability, eliminating signal distortion and attenuation caused by cable length, and thus delivers flawless visual output. 

Zero-Latency Transmission & Video De-Jitter Function

This solution adopts hardware-based direct fiber transmission architecture. The transmitter multiplexes low-speed auxiliary signals into a unified 10G bitstream via 10G serial-parallel conversion chips, while the receiver demultiplexes the high-speed 10G stream back to original native signals. Unlike software-based encoding/decoding schemes such as H.264/H.265, this hardware approach achieves real-time transmission of video, audio and auxiliary control signals, with standout benefits including zero latency, zero image compression, and perfect audio-video synchronization.A proprietary signal de-jitter engine further enhances transmission precision and signal quality, delivering outstanding video synchronization for short-distance multi-screen video wall deployments, free of inter-screen flicker, black gaps and frame jitter artifacts.

HDCP Pass-Through Function

The HFX-2200 series high-performance 4K UHD fiber optic extenders feature HDCP pass-through capability, supporting transmission of HDCP encrypted signals over a distance of up to 300 meters with HDCP 1.4 compatibility. When this series of extenders is connected to Blu-ray players or other HDCP-enabled signal sources, stable normal transmission of video and audio signals is guaranteed. 

EDID Pass-Through Function

The HFX-2200 series high-performance 4K UHD fiber optic extenders are equipped with EDID pass-through functionality. They accurately relay the EDID data of displays back to the signal source via the extender, allowing source devices to refresh the display’s EDID information in real time. This enables flawless compatibility with various display terminals including monitors and projectors to deliver the optimal display performance of each screen.
